What happened to classic Hollywood cartoons?

How come no one talks about them anymore? They don't even make ads with classic Hollywood characters anymore-the only classic Hollywood cartoons they show on TV are Pink Panther, Popeye and Tom and Jerry. They don't even air Looney Tunes anymore, and Disney doesn't even air classic Disney shorts like they used to. Is it because the major studios released most of the classic toons on DVD?

I miss the cartoons from the past. I also miss watching "She-ra", "Rainbowbrite", "Popples", "The Cabbage Patch Kids", "The Smurfs", "Inspector Gadget", "Pink Panther", "Betty Boop", "Pop-eye". I guess I'll start saving money to buy the ones they don't show on Cartoon Network. Lol.

Why do they call the Pink Panther movie the Pink Panther when the cartoon character is not in the movie?

I always wondered why they call it the Pink Panther and use the cartoon character in the previews but hes never in the movie or anything. Why call it the Pink Panther when the Pink Panther is not in the movie?
