I'm 16, female, and 5"7 with a fit body. I'm going to Cedar Point this October for Halloweekends, and I want a clever/cute costume idea. It has to be something that I could easily make or buy from a thrift shop. It also has to be functional (no huge ball gowns or bikinis; I have to wear it on rollercoasters!)

I love old fashioned things (Lucille Ball, Audrey Hepburn, Marilyn Monroe, Jessica Rabbit, Betty Boop, etc.), Star Wars (like Padme Amidala), Harry Potter (Hermione maybe?), and Disney (like the princesses).
Ideas please~
I do have some old homecoming dresses that I could recycle;
-A black gown (rose embroidered satin fabric) with a diamond-studded empire waist (one row), with a sheer black halter.
-A white gown with a lacy black obi-like waist.
-A fitted floor-length orange dress with a cinched bust, string halter neck, and yellow bead accents.
-An unlimited supply of long skirts in all patterns and colors.

I got a knee length tight scalloped red dress it is off the sholder poofy sleeves and the rest is tight sleeves to my wrists. I have a couple ideas of what to do for halloween with this dress but I need more. I am going to a halloween party and I want to be something that nobody will be (ex: a devil, everyone will be a devil) I was thinking about takeing off the sleves and makeing it a strapless that way it looks more modern. it has a bulky thing of beads on the hip that i want to replace or take off. Any ideas. I was thinking Jessica rabbit but hers is a sleek red dress with a slit. Also betty boop I guess or an 80's barbie. Any ideas!! please help I've tryed Google and that was all i got.

My best friend's birthday is coming up and it's going to be a costume party. His sisters are going as Betty Boop and Jessica Rabbit, his boyfriend is going as an "All-American Quarterback" (ha ha), and he's going to be a "Classic Punk Rocker" (his words, not mine). And all of his/my friends are going as anything between characters to types of people. I was thinking I wanted to go as Debbie Harry from Blondie. This would really make him happy so I want make sure I do it right. We both basically worship Blondie, along with other amazing bands, and so I want to look as much like Debbie as possible.
What should I wear? How should do my makeup? I'm slightly freaking out for some reason, so anything will help.

IMO Betty Boop and Jessica Rabbit are tied for second prettiest, the three that I'd tie for THE prettiest are So White, Goldilocks, and Red Hot Riding Hood, but since they're not as famous I thought I'd pick people everyone's heard of. I am going to dress as Jessica Rabbit for Halloween but it was very difficult to find the right dress. I found a Betty Boop costume (here is a link with a picture of the costume http://www.buycostumes.com/Category/0/Product/27397/ProductDetail.aspx?REF=AFC-datafeed&AID=10273928&PID=2100672&SID=NAT234013-sc3271653) that was pretty close but I just noticed it is velet (in the picture it looks like a satin type of material). But Jessica Rabbits dress is sparkly so how hard would it be to add sequins of some kind to the dress. I know nothing about sewing or anything like that. Please help!
